Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the safe, efficient, and consistent manufacture and test activities of the Company’s range of X-ray imaging systems, whilst also maintaining specific responsibility for managing physical component stocks. All functions are carried out in compliance with the Company’s Safety Guidelines and Quality Management systems and procedures.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fr. Normal duties may require work at other premises, and some overtime and weekend work may be required

MANUFACTURING RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Mechanical and electro-mechanical build, assembly, and test

· Electrical wiring and soldering

· Electronics testing, fault finding and repair of sub-assemblies and finished products using standard equipment, multi-meters, oscilloscopes and PC based equipment.

· Installing application programs onto PC and PLC-based systems

· Inspecting and packing finished systems as detailed on customer orders.

· Maintaining accurate and relevant test and despatch documentation.

· Achievement of agreed despatch dates.

· Support R and D product development s/w and h/w activities as required.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Goods Inwards inspection and recording of all materials and components movements.

· Participate and contribute to Sales Order, Health and Safety and Product reviews.

· Documentation of Non-Conformance and Engineering Change

· Day-to-day safety, COSHH and housekeeping of production areas.

· On-time entry of personal time sheets

· Adhere to best working practices and ability to work on own initiative

Personal Specification

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in a similar electronic/electrical design and manufacturing environment.
  • Hands on experience of single phase and low voltage wiring
  • A sound grasp of electronic circuitry documentation, programming and interrogation.
  • Experience of good workshop practice and safety at work.
  • Good understanding of stock control, receipt and inspection of incoming parts and the execution and shipping of customer orders.
  • Experience of working within an ISO 9001 environment.
  • Ability to read and understand wiring schematics and circuit diagrams
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and instructions
  • Testing and fault finding of PCB and electro-mechanical assemblies and systems.
  • Cable and harness manufacture skills
  • Good communication skills

Qualifications

· Minimum: 5 GCSEs including English and Maths or BTEC Level-2 or NVQ Electrical/Electronics.

· Desirable: BTEC Level-3, HNC or equivalent

· Advantageous: 17th Edition Wiring Regulations Certified
