Launch of new specially designed portable generator under exclusive agreemen
Image Scan, the AIM-listed specialist supplier of x-ray screening systems to the security and industrial inspection markets, is pleased to announce that it has made its first customer deliveries of a specially designed new portable x-ray generator. The new portable generator has been developed under an exclusive supply agreement with a leading global provider of x-ray inspection solutions based in the US, as was announced on 21 July 2014.
The new generators are supplied as part of a fully integrated portable x-ray scanning system using Image Scan’s FlatScan detector panel and wirelessly connected portable computer.
The new generator is a more robust, smaller and lighter product and the early sales are a strong endorsement of our new product offering. Though the generator is currently only available in low volumes Image Scan is working with its supplier to achieve a higher volume of deliveries in early 2015.
The first contracts for this new system have been signed with both existing and new Image Scan customers in the Middle East and South East Asia.
Commenting on this milestone, Bill Mawer, Chairman and CEO of Image Scan, said: “These sales are a welcome start to the new product refresh programme, and the availability of the new portable generator will alleviate the disruption caused by the phasing out of the older technology generator which is no longer available. Significant volumes of the new system will be produced and will become available in early 2015. This should enhance the Company’s product placement programme and lead to the return of volume sales of our core portable x-ray products”.
