Order for portable X-ray systems

Image Scan, the AIM-listed specialist supplier of X-ray screening systems to the security and industrial inspection markets, is delighted to announce that it has received a significant further order for its ThreatScan®-LS1 portable X-ray system.

The new contract, at just over £750k, is of a similar size to the order announced in June and comes from the same Asian territory. Delivery is also due in December 2016. The first stage payment has been received.

The Company now has an order book of in excess of 100 portable X-ray systems of various configurations.

ThreatScan®-LS1 is part of the expanding range of portable X-ray systems developed by Image Scan following its August 2014 fundraising. The system allows police and military counter terror teams to investigate suspect packages quickly and safely. It is made up of a compact rugged X-ray generator, the Company’s ultra-thin detector panel and a rugged laptop running the new ThreatSpect suite of image analysis software. All elements of the system can be connected wirelessly.

Bill Mawer, Chairman and CEO of Image Scan, said: “I am delighted with the further commitment to our ThreatScan®-LS1 portable X-ray system from this important Asian territory. We have the detailed planning in place, both internally and in our supply chain, to deliver these large orders and the whole company is focused on making them a success.”
