New contracts expand global reach of 3DX-RAY’s vehicle x-ray inspection systems in Africa and Asia
31 July 2012
Loughborough, UK – July 30 2012: 3DX-RAY, the x-ray inspection specialists, has announced today that it has signed two new contracts to supply its SVXi vehicle x-ray inspection systems to both Libya and Indonesia.
The Libyan government organisation will use the equipment, including a suite of baggage scanning systems, for an integrated secure facility. The equipment will scan vehicles and large parcels to ensure there are no threats entering its perimeters. The mobility of the SVXi, enabling security personnel to rapidly redeploy the system at different points of entry, and its image quality were crucial in the decision to purchase 3DX-RAY’s technology.
The Indonesia order was made by the Indonesian National Police to help counter the on-going threat to the border of Bali at popular ferry crossings. Again the portability of the system was a significant factor in the choice of SVXi.
Vincent Deery of 3DX-RAY, commented: “These deals really demonstrate how demand for our novel x-ray inspection solutions continues to grow around the world. In the face of increasingly resourceful criminals and terrorists security forces the world over are investing more and more in novel security technology like SVXi that are more flexible and powerful than existing inspection solutions. The SVXi system is especially powerful when looking for very fine details in vehicles, which would just not be possible when using other equipment without the resolution that the SVXi offers. We were the first in the industry to develop the mobile system for vehicles which can be used at border controls.”
The SVXi small vehicle x-ray inspection system is a rapid deployment, mobile x-ray system that can be set up and operational in under ten minutes. As a result the SVXi system can increase throughput in a wide range of security applications such as Customs & Excise, public events and conferences and can also be deployed in EOD incidents to scan suspect vehicles. The system can produce a detailed x-ray image of an entire vehicle (up to the size of a transit van) with resolutions below 1mm, increasing the probability of detection and reducing false alarms.
Designed for maximum flexibility, the SVXi can be mounted on a wide range of transportation from sophisticated multi-terrain vehicles to low cost motorised trailers. 3DX-RAY’s innovative system can be quickly deployed, operated and then moved on – producing the image without ever having to touch or move the suspect vehicle – crucial for a safe threat detection operation.
