3DX-RAY Limited’s hand-carried Flatscan-TPXi system, is a portable x-ray bomb and threat detection system designed to give the EOD specialist the best tool for the job.

A key requirement for this type of system is superb image quality. High resolution has become a key issue as the nature of potential threat has changed from simple explosive devices to complex and potentially ‘dirty’ devices. Flatscan-TPXi can obtain resolutions in the range of 4lp/mm. To obtain the image information penetration is also a significant factor, Flatscan-TPXi provides one of the best penetration specifications in the market for a given x-ray energy (30mm steel @ 160kv).

Flatscan-TPXi comes with a suite of software tools which allows the operator to investigate the image (e.g. Zoom and  Deep Focus) and has the further advantage of being able to display distinct materials discrimination, with images coloured to the same standards as advanced x-ray baggage machines. Helping the operator to identify potential biological or explosive hazards, weapons and electronics more easily and accurately.

The Flatscan-TPXi system is one of the most robust on the market, meeting or exceeding MIL-STD-810F for shock and vibration. It’s slim large detector area (41x53x5cm) allows the operator to take the image in a single ‘shot’ rather than risking a ‘re-visit’. The system also offers wireless (over ½  km)  and wired connectivity and a fibre optic option with complete control and data feedback from the remote operators’ laptop.
